2026 Sweetest Moms in Watertown- The nomination stories

 Happy Mother's Day!

This year’s Sweetest Mom in Watertown nominations reminded us just how many incredible moms are quietly making life sweeter every single day.

We received stories about moms, grandmas, bonus moms, mother figures, friends, neighbors, and women who show up with love, strength, kindness, faith, humor, patience, and generosity. Some stories made us smile, some made us cry, and all of them reminded us how lucky we are to be part of this community.

While we were only able to choose one winner, we truly believe every nominee deserves to be celebrated. Below, you’ll find the nomination stories shared with us this year, listed anonymously so the focus can stay on the love behind each one. Some have been altered slightly to maintain anonimity.

The stories are numbered in the same order as the nominee names shared in our Facebook and Instagram posts, so nominees and their families can find their story if they’d like to read along. (Please note, for the moms who received multiple nominations, their stories have the same number.)

Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate someone special. Your words were beautiful, meaningful, and such a sweet reminder of the incredible moms we have right here in Watertown.

We hope you all know how loved and appreciated you are, and have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Sweetest Mom in Watertown 2026 —Nomination Stories

1. I'm only 11 but my mom does everything for everyone else before herself. She never asks for anything but is always helping everybody. When my grandpa passed away, my uncle and aunts and my dad all had Covid and she was running back and forth across the street to take care of everyone. She didn't get it but she was making sure everyone else was taken care of. She's the best mom and a really good friend. When we ask her what she wants for Christmas, her birthday or mother's Day she always tells us nothing. All she says she wants is her family and she's happy with just that.

2. My mom is so full of joy and spreads it to everyone she meets! She gives so much to others but never takes the time to treat herself, she is always willing to give up her time, money and resources for anyone who needs it! Anytime I get to come home from college to visit, it’s an amazing time and I leave missing her more than when I came home because of the impact she has on my life, she deserves the world!!

3. She continuously pours into others with kindness and love. She always offers a helping hand, support, or simply an ear to listen. Watertown is blessed to have such an amazing woman be part of the community!

4. She gives everything to her family and barely anything to herself! She is a teacher in the community and gives that her all as well! She definitely deserves a treat for herself

5. She gave up everything to be a stay at home mom for 5 years. She goes above and beyond for not only her kids but her friends and friends kids as well. She is the kindest, most caring, and selfless person I’ve had the honor of knowing.

6. My mom is the sweetest mom and grandma because she’s always putting herself last in everything. She is the most selfless person I know.  Her grandchildren love her so much they call her mommy. She has sacrificed leaving her country her mom and everything she knows just to give us a better life. She deserves it all.

7. We are nominating our mom. She’s a mom of six and grandma to five. She recently left her job to stay home with all her grand babies. She’s an amazing mom and grandma. She has always been there for all of us and still continues to this day. That is why we’d love to nominate her for a chance to win.

8. She deserves to win this award because not only is she a kind and loving single mother of two beautiful boys but also kindhearted to everyone she meets.  She is selfless in every aspect of her life.  She puts everyone else’s needs over hers.  She spends her days on her feet which doesn’t slow her down from taking the boys to the park, the Y or doing arts and crafts in the evenings.  I am incredibly proud to call her my daughter and believe she is one of the most devoted and caring mothers in our town!

9. This amazing mom has 5 children with 4 currently in the Watertown School District. Not only does she work full-time, but she makes sure she volunteers for every school/sporting event her children are involved in and volunteers when they’re not. She’s on the booster club and the football board and spends every waking minute making sure her children are loved and living the happiest life! She is always positive and smiling and just an overall joy to be around! She never takes time for herself or buys herself anything so I think she 100% deserves this Mom Basket! ❤️

10. She is an amazing mother who takes great care of both our sons. Even through the health struggles of our youngest son.

11. I’m nominating this mom because she has truly dedicated her life to helping others. She is the kindest, most genuine, and most empathetic person I know, always putting others before herself.

She is a devoted mom to her two daughters and has been a caregiver for her family most of her life, including her adult sister with a disability.

In her work, she is a passionate in supporting students, especially those with disabilities, making sure they are seen and given every opportunity to succeed.

Her compassion and selflessness make a lasting impact on everyone around her, and she is so deserving of this recognition.

12. My mom is the sweetest because she always put others first, whether it’s family or friends she goes above and beyond to make people feel good. She is patient and kind to anyone she meets, she always puts a smile on her face even on the hard days. I’m so thankful to have her as my mom to learn from and guide me!

13. As a mom, she is doing an incredible job guiding a four-year-old through his "busy" life. She has created a routine that blends fostering his independence with maintaining a very close, loving bond. She embraces all aspects of parenting—from playtime and heartfelt cuddles to handling emotional transitions—making sure she is emotionally available for him. By modeling patience and teaching key values, she is helping him thrive, all while ensuring they both have the balance they need.

14. I think she deserves to be nominated because she has raised me on her own for 14 years with endless love and strength. She has always supported me through every challenge and made sure I never felt alone. Her dedication and sacrifices show how truly special she is as a mom.

15. She is a young mom with 2 young children one with complex medical needs and a 2nd with possible needs as well. But that doesn’t stop her from making everyday special for them and herself. She’s amazing with her boys and she’s an awesome daughter and big sister to boot.

16. She is simply the best mom and truly deserves the world. She shows up for others in ways most people wouldn’t, stepping in as POA for her uncle with dementia, making sure he is safe, cared for, and never forgotten. She has also taken on the overwhelming responsibility of managing her great uncle’s estate after he passed, showing him kindness and compassion even when others didn’t. At work, she goes far beyond her role, solving any problem that comes her way and supporting everyone around her. No matter how much she carries, she remains kind, gentle, and welcoming to everyone she meets, and that’s what makes her so special.

17. To put it simply, my mom is the best. I am currently 28 years old, and my mom is my best friend. Since we started getting closer in 2018, we've done so much together. That includes running 5k races every year for Thanksgiving for almost 8 years now, traveling together, going to concerts together... She goes with me everywhere, because I want her to be there with me. She always wants to be active with me, but she's had her health issues. Her health hurdles don't stop her, though, as this last fall we did the Crazy Horse Volksmarch together in South Dakota and she also completed a nearly 8 mile hike to Black Elk Peak, which is the highest summit in the United States east of the Rocky Mountains. She also achieved her realtor license just 2 years ago. She doesn't let obstacles stop her and deserves way more than I could ever do for her. She's my best friend and deserves the world, but I think this could do a great job of showing her how much she is worth, or begin to.

18. My mom is selfless and has always put her family first.  Life has not always been easy for her,  but she is strong and determined and worked hard. She has recently gone through medical issues that have forced her into retirement.  Even with what she's experiencing she will still drop anything to help her family and support them.  She is my biggest inspiration in life and Im so proud she's mine.

19. This hardworking stay at home Mom of 3 and stepmom of 3 deserves a minute to be recognized. Not only did her only girl just have brain surgery, she's been caring for her and her 2 grandkids while also juggling care and sports for her youngest child and 2 of her 3 step children. if anyone deserves this I definitely feel she does.

19. She’s an amazing mother! She has been my biggest supporter since I became a single young mother of 2. She brings me food when I’m not feeling well. She is an amazing grandmother.

20. This is my daughter.  She is a devoted young mother to two boys who continues to show strength and love for her family, even while recovering from recent brain surgery.

22. Heidi has stepped up to be the "second mom" for our foster daughter and always goes out of her way to make our shared daughter feel like she's family. Whether it be church, family dinner, holiday events, or camping trips, our girl is always welcomed with open arms. Couldn't ask for a better friend or mom to share the spotlight with! She's also a great mom to her kids! ;)

23. When I am working, she picks my daughter up after school and she takes my daughter there to sweet talkin treats to get her and her brother cake pops. My daughter is infatuated with your store and absolutely loves it. She makes my mom stop there almost daily if not, twice a week.

24. My Mom is the sweetest Mom in Town because she has a heart made of Gold! She is always helping others before putting herself first. She would be willing to help anyone in need. She is a wonderful Mother, and takes exceptional care of my Dad, and family members.

25. My mom has supported me through every step in life, even when I was making the wrong decision. I now have 3 kids- 3 year old twins and a 9 month old and seeing her be the best grandma has truly been such a beautiful experience. She has been there for me and my kids through everything, and when I say everything I mean everything. From their births, first steps and words, sicknesses, parks and petting zoos, everything she has been there with a smile on her face and love in her heart. I wouldn’t be half the mom I am today without her setting a magical example.

26. She is the sweetest, kindest, and the hardest working single mama I've met.

27. She is a wonderful mom of 2 little girls. She has struggled with health issues while also being a mom of little babies / toddlers. Through this all, she has let herself accept help from others, pushed herself to become stronger physically and get help for herself, and also continued to find ways to work and keep her home running. She cares deeply about her community and even people she’s never met. As a fellow mom, I’ve watched her struggle and continue to find a way forward. I’m really proud of her and think she is the sweetest and most caring mom πŸ’•

28. My wife is the sweetest mom because she loves our family with everything she has. No matter how busy or exhausting life gets, she still gives our children her time, patience, and a love that makes them feel safe and deeply cared for. She works hard behind the scenes in ways most people never see, and our home is better because of her. Watching her be a mother makes me love and appreciate her even more every day.

29. She is the most selfless woman I know. She literally lives to make everyone around her happy, even when things are hard in her own life. She’s the type of person that does “good deeds” for people everyday without even realizing she’s doing it! She is, and always will be my best friend! (You’re never too old to need your mom! Especially mine!)

30. She always includes me and my daughter and makes us feel like family. She is the most kind mother to sweet 3(almost 4, in September!!) boys in the entire world

31. She’s always there when I need her. She will always try to make it to all the events I attend too. And she loves me very much. God has blessed me with a wonderful mother!!

32. She always supports me, even through my bad choices. She lovingly cared for her ailing husband and her mother, and now continues to help care for mine as well. As a single mother, she did a pretty darn good job! She also donates to the senior center and animal shelters, and helps others however she can.

33. Angel is not only a mom to her kids, she is also a "mom" in our community. She is always there with inspiration and great guidance for so many. The first time I meet her I knew her name really fit her.

33. My mom is one of the kindest, most caring, and loving person out there! She is always there for a helping hand and listening ear, not just for her kids but for anyone who needs it. Even when she is having a bad day she will never let it get in the way of helping others! She owns her own business, which she has put so much of herself into and I am so proud of her for achieving this and being an amazing outlet to help others! Everyone you ask about her will tell you how truly amazing she is and what a beautiful soul she has!

34. She devotes all her time to her daughter, her work in human services helping families in our community, and volunteering for multiple organizations in Watertown. She is always giving everything she has whether it’s time, money, or effort.

35. She has opened her heart and home to support loved ones during a difficult season, all while raising her own children, running a business, and balancing a demanding career. Her compassion, generosity, and willingness to help others in times of need make her truly deserving of a win!

36. She is a devoted mother to our son. We adopted him from birth and she has kept a calendar diary with what happened every day for almost six years as a mother. We have an open adoption, and she keeps space in our family to include our son’s first mother in New Jersey, and helps him keep in contact with her. For almost twenty years she was who many Watertown mothers trusted with their children as a kindergarten and first grade teacher in the WUSD.

37. My mom is the sweetest person in our town because she always goes above and beyond for others. No matter what she’s going through, she’s willing to help anyone in any situation. As a small business owner, she still finds time to care deeply about the people around her. She’s incredibly selfless and always puts others before herself. On top of everything, she’s a supportive friend and the best mom I could ever ask for.

38. She is the grandma to two amazing kids and goes above and beyond to support not only them, but the kids’ parents as well. She spends so much time with them, always has a treat, and is willing to drive the cars around, even when she’s tired. Her guidance to her daughter helps her through all the new parts of motherhood. She loves her kids and grandkids beyond words and helps in more ways than she knows. She’s the best!

41. I honestly have the sweetest mom in the world. When my grandpa passed away (her dad), she became the glue that held us together, prioritizing quality time and family traditions above everything else. And even creating new traditions for every holiday that prioritize family. Her unconditional love and support has made such a huge difference in my life and for all of us.

42. Since I was little she has been my go to. She’s never once judge me. Even tho she never had her own blood children she treated so many of us as her own kid. I’m forever her munchkin and she’s forever my motherly figure.

43. My mom has overcome health issues and obstacles, but has never let that stop her from being caring and compassionate to others. Despite her obstacles, she still works in the medical field as a Medical Assistant, and is an advocate for others like her. She is my role model and my reason for wanting to go into the healthcare field- specifically nursing. She’s one of the kindest, hard- working, and caring individuals I have ever met, and strives to help people in her daily life.

44. She is an angel, who has always had it hard. Despite a difficult childhood and overcoming unhealthy and abusive relationships, she worked hard to create a safer, more loving life for her children. She was always a single mom, who worked her job, cleaned the house, and always had a meal for us all the time. She teaches my siblings and I, and all her other friends, all the trauma she went through and gives all the greatest advice one could ever ask for. A good mom is a mom who works hard and raises good kids, my mom is all of that, and way more. Ask any person in town who knows her, and they will tell you.

45. She is an RN and works hard to make sure that her family is taken care of. She has two wonderful daughters that she goes above and beyond for. We love her and she is definitely the Sweetest Mom!

46. A Mom that gives her all not just to her natural child but to a special needs foster child.. well that's my daughter. She works full time, goes above and beyond for her daughter, and then is a full time mom to a foster boy that has major special needs from the abuse he had since birth. She's involved in community events and programs for the kids, as well as wife to a very busy husband. She has a big heart. She will do anything for anyone at any given time. She's not just a mother, she's a friend, a nurse , a cook and housekeeper, a chauffeur.. but above all she's MOM.

47. She is the most caring, loving mom and always goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has what they need. She’s willing to help in any way she can and has helped her children in countless ways. To make her even more special, she is the best Lolli to her granddaughter a girl could ever ask for. 49.  Not only did she raise her 4 kids but she helped raise some of our friends as well who did not have as loving families. She is also helping raise my 12 year old nephew. Many to this day still call her Mamma or Mamma B.❤️

50. She goes above and beyond for her friends and family. From making frozen meals for new moms, taking her friend’s kids when the mother is sick, and for random “this made me think of you” gifts. We love you!

51. She is an amazing mom, hair dresser, and friend to anyone who is lucky enough to have her in their life! She is so fun for not only her daughter, but for all the kids in her life. Even the most selective of kiddos gravitates towards her, which shows how pure and kind her heart is. She goes above and beyond for her friends and family and always has the right thing to say.

52. She is the backbone of so many local organizations, from the school PTO to the Friends of the library, but her most important role is the example she sets for our two young children. She has taught our kids that if you can’t see the good in the world, you have to create it yourself, a lesson she puts into practice every time she organizes a Girl Scout troop donation or advocates for our local schools. She is the sweetest mom I know, and she gives so much of herself to Watertown without ever asking for anything in return.

92. She is a “do all” kind of mom. If she’s not behind the desk of the family run business for 10+ hour days, you will see her at every one of her grand kids sporting events, cheering louder than anyone! She isn’t my mom, but my “work mom” and I confide in her, and look up to her. She is the one to lend a helping hand, and puts so many people before herself. She is truly one of a kind, and if you are lucky enough to know her-you know she is the sweetest, most caring, down to earth mom, grandma, work mom, and so many other titles MOM in town!

98. I would like to nominate my mom for Best Mom in Watertown because she truly represents what it means to care for others and be part of a community.

My mom is someone who shows love not just to her family, but to everyone around her. She is always supporting local businesses and never misses a chance to visit the farmers market. She believes in giving back to the place we call home, and she does that in so many small but meaningful ways.

If you’ve ever driven by our house, you’ve probably noticed the flowers. My mom takes so much pride in keeping our yard full of life and color. It’s not just about making our home look nice—it’s about spreading joy to anyone who passes by.

She’s also the kind of person who is always there when someone needs help. Whether it’s checking in on a neighbor, lending a hand, or quietly helping someone who’s struggling, she never hesitates. She gives without expecting anything in return.

My mom works incredibly hard every day, and somehow still finds time to do what she loves—especially baking and sharing treats with others. Whether she made them herself or picked them up from a local shop, she always makes sure no one goes without something sweet.

She also has strong connections in our community, including a great relationship with our mayor, who once taught us in school. But what stands out most is not who she knows—it’s how she treats people. With kindness, respect, and genuine care.

Most importantly, my mom is a woman of God. Her faith guides the way she lives her life, and you can see that in how she loves, gives, and supports others every single day.

To me, she’s not just the best mom in Watertown—she’s the kind of person who makes Watertown a better place to live.
